Last monday I had a shoot with the Imagine Girls for the store and we had a blast! The fun thing is, is that I helped pick out the items for this collection. I never thought I would have a thing for cowboy boots. Since I receive my newest boots from Nelson it has been my every day shoe. Compared to my Dr. Martens they give a less edgy look, which I think is good. It’s a good pair of black boots. The weather has been awesome past week, so I could wear some shorts again. I combined it with a satin blouse from Ivyrevel for a more feminine look. Really, the past week the boots has been the basic of my summer outfits, because they are so comfortable. Yihaaaa!
NL: Ik heb nooit gedacht dat ik cowboy laarzen leuk zou vinden! Sinds ik mijn nieuwste paar laarsjes van Nelson heb ontvangen, heb ik ze elke dag aan gehad! In vergelijking tot mijn Dr. Martens schoenen, geven deze boots een minder stoere look, wat ik dus wil! Het is gewoon een goede schoen. Het weer was van de week natuurlijk super goed, dus ook ik heb mijn shorts aangetrokken. Ik combineerde het met mijn satijnen blouse van Ivyrevel voor een iets vrouwelijke look. Echt, de laarsjes zijn echt top en de basis geweest van mijn zomerse outfitjes van afgelopen week.

ENG: It has been a while that I got out to take pictures for my blog. Of course I’ll always say it’s because of the weather (it really sucks in The Netherlands), but I also need people to shoot it for me. Planning shoots a head is not really my thing anymore, because I really feel that I need to blog because I want to do it. Last week I went to the beach with Mai to shoot some pictures. I am wearing a new top from Ivyrevel and combined it with my shorts. I’d rather have this look shot in the desert or somewhere more abandoned, but you got to work with what you got right!
I noticed myself that I am not sharing a lot of my personal life here anymore and focus more on my outfits. There are a few ideas in my head which I will write down on paper to make things a bit more interesting. NL: Het is een tijdje terug dat ik weer puur voor mijn blog foto’s heb geschoten. Ik zal altijd blijven zeggen dat het komt omdat het weer in Nederland gewoon niet mee zit. Ook heb ik natuurlijk mensen nodig die voor mij de foto’s kunnen nemen. Vaak is het zo dat ik niet meer shoots van tevoren plan, want ik heb dan meer het gevoel dat ik het doe, omdat het moet. Ik wil echt alleen maar bloggen, omdat het een uitlaatklep is. Afgelopen week ging ik met Mai naar het strand om foto’s te maken. Ik droeg mijn nieuwe top van Ivyrevel en combineerde deze met een spijkershortje. Het liefst schoot ik deze foto’s ergens in de woestijn of een verlaten oord, maar ik moest het maar doen met het strand.
Ik merk dat ik minder persoonlijke dingen hier deel en meer gefocust ben op mijn outfits. Ik heb wel een aantal ideeën in mijn hoofd die ik even op papier moet zetten. Gewoon om het ook even interessanter te maken. Als er bepaalde onderwerpen of dingen die jullie zouden willen zien of weten, laat dan even een berichtje achter in de comments, social media of e-mail! ENG: Hey ya’ll! It’s been several weeks since I’ve posted something on my blog, but I’ve been sick the last few weeks and the weather wasn’t that great either. You can imagine that I didn’t feel like shooting outfit pictures. Now this week the sun came out again and it was time to share an outfit with my new items. As you may have seen in shops, there are now many ruffles incorporated into clothing. I think it’s a cool trend, but it could quickly look girlish, chic or preppy. Well, these are terms that aren’t on my list when it comes to clothing style, but that is why I also combined this ruffles sweater with a high waist jeans and a new pair of edgy boots from PS Poelman. To complete the look I wore my buckle belt and jacket with fringes, so that the same ” western ” details are there just as in the footwear.
NL: Hallo allemaal! Het is alweer een aantal weken geleden dat ik wat heb gepost op mijn blog, maar ik ben de afgelopen weken ziek geweest en het weer zat ook niet mee. Je kan je dan wel indenken dat ik geen zin had om dan ook nog eens foto’s te gaan schieten. Nu de zon van de week zichzelf weer even goed liet zien werd het hoog tijd om een outfit te laten zien met mijn nieuwe items. Zoals je misschien hebt gezien in verschillende winkels, zijn er nu super veel ruffles verwerkt in kledingstukken. Ik vind het een leuke trend, maar het kan ook snel iets te meisjesachtig, chique of preppy overkomen. Nou zijn dit termen die niet bij mijn lijstje horen kwa kledingstijl, maar daarom heb ik deze ruffle trui ook gecombineerd met een high waist jeans en een paar nieuwe stoere boots van PS Poelman. Om de look af te maken droeg ik mijn buckle riem en jas met fringes, zodat de zelfde ”western” details terugkwamen zoals in de schoenen.
I wasn’t planning on getting new items, but isn’t that always the case with shopping? Haha! I only did some sale shopping, got the top (€3,99) and mom jeans (12,99) from Bershka and the boots (€29,95) from Mango. Not bad right? I’m happy with the items for such a bargain.

ENG: Ten years ago I bought my first pair of Vans. They were slip ons with black and white blocks. Not much later I bought my Vans Old School in Black and these were really my favorite shoes. With Avril Lavigne played on my iPod and a matched look, I felt super cool walking on the hallways of high school. I would not say I was the first with Vans at school, but I was one of the few. The cool kids who were two grades higher, and not counting the skaters, of course, also had Vans. It was striking that I was not really bullied, but I wasn’t getting compliments about my looks either in the beginning. But you know how it goes, things quickly become mainstream and eventually I saw that everyone started wearing Vans. Now I must say that this story was similar after I started with wearing colored sneakers and UGGs. The reason I remember this like it was yesterday, because I like previously said I was dressed more notable and was therefore also teased. I was not in the popular group, but also not with the people who were bullied. Nowadays this is much less because trends get mainstream faster and people are embracing exclusive things more.
To return to my story Vans; Ten years later and I’m glad I’m still remained true to myself when it comes to style. I still wear what I like, but try to combine all my items together. This white Vans are therefore a great asset to form the basis for the distinctive items that I will always buy for my wardrobe. I’m still very happy with the red jacket that I’ve just bought at the Zara sale and have combined this time with my favorite vintage Levi’s jeans. I’d probably wear the sneakers with blue jeans to create a 90s looks. The shoes are still white, but there’ll probably change soon haha!
Oh, and it was freezing cold taking these pictures. Me and Ginney took like 5 mins to shoot this, because we couldn’t deal with the cold. Check out here new website Xo
NL: Tien jaar geleden kocht ik mijn allereerste paar Vans. Het waren slip-ons met zwart en witte blokjes. Niet veel later kocht ik mijn Vans Old School in het zwart en dit waren echt mijn favoriete schoenen. Met Avril Lavigne afgespeeld op mijn iPod en een gematchte look erbij voelde ik me echt super cool op de Middelbare. Ik wil niet zeggen dat ik de eerste was met Vans op school, maar ik kon ze wel op twee handen tellen zeg maar. De cool kids die twee jaar hoger zaten, en de skaters niet meegeteld, hadden natuurlijk ook al Vans aan. Opvallend was dat ik niet echt ermee werd gepest, maar ik kreeg er ook geen complimentjes over mijn looks in die tijd. Maar je weet hoe het gaat, dingen worden snel mainstream en langzamerhand zag je dat iedereen Vans begon te dragen. Nu moet ik zeggen dat dit verhaal ook soortgelijk was met toen ik begon met gekleurde sneakers en UGGs. De reden waarom ik dit nog als de dag van gisteren heb onthouden is, omdat ik zoals eerder gezegd wel opvallender gekleed was en hierdoor ook geplaagd werd. Want, ja ik zat niet bij de populaire groep, maar ook niet bij de mensen die wel werden gepest. Tegenwoordig is dit al veel minder, want de ”opvallende” trends worden sneller mainstream en het hebben van exclusievere dingen worden meer omarmt.
Om terug te komen op mijn Vans verhaal; tien jaar later en ik ben blij dat ik nog steeds trouw aan mezelf ben gebleven als het gaat om stijl. Ik draag nog steeds wat ik leuk vind, maar probeer wel al mijn items met elkaar te kunnen combineren. Deze witte Vans zijn daarom een goede aanwinst om de basis te vormen voor de opvallende items die ik altijd voor mijn kledingkast zal aanschaffen. Ik ben nog steeds ontzettend blij met het rode jasje die ik pas bij de Zara sale heb gehaald en heb het dit keer gecombineerd met mijn favoriete vintage Levi’s jeans. Ik zal deze schoenen denk ik het meest combineren met een blauwe spijkerbroek voor een 90s look. De sneakers zijn nu nog wit, maar daar komt vast snel verandering in haha!
Oh en het was echt super koud tijdens deze shoot. Ik en Ginney hebben er echt maar 5 minuten over gedaan want we konden de kou echt niet aan. Bekijk gelijk haar nieuwe website!

ENG: I had a super slow weekend where most of the time I spend it on the couch or bed. It’s like whenever I’m free, there are stones in my body. I just can’t get myself out to do something. Yeah, I think I’m making myself crazy 😝 This week I got a full schedule again, so that might be good that I have some distraction! Xo
