This summer has been really good, since the weather is great! (Not so great because it’s probably the result of global warming). I have been working, but lucky enough to also have days off. On those days I relax, work out (if I am up for it), read books (the art of not giving a f*ck for example), netflixing and meeting up with friends. What I often do with friends is eat. We go out and eat, eat eat. Because what is the best way to catch up with some good?! I tell them that I am so happy we live in a place where it is easy to get to a beach. It’s only a half hour drive! I also love to spend time at the park and have a BBQ. I’ve been to some festivals and I will be going to the notting hill carnival in London the end of this month. I’m super excited for that!
With this weather it makes it all easier and I get sad to think that the dutch weather isn’t like this all the time. Everyone seems to have more energy and excited with that extra vitamin D boost. My summer has been pretty good so far. I really can’t complain. In november I am going to Vietnam, so that is when I will get to relax and absolutely do nothing. Hope you also have a great summer!
It is so funny how life can surprise you sometimes. It was just a regular sunday and I was at church telling my friend Eveline that my boss asked me if I wanted to have her Justin Timberlake tickets. I told her she was crazy for not going, but didn’t hesitate to say YES. I wanted to go to the Demi Lovato concert last month as a ”first concert” experience for Eveline. Due to circumstance we didn’t see Demi, so I told her to join me to this unexpected JT concert. I took the car and off we went to Amsterdam Ziggo dome.
We had the usual fun car ride and told her how happy and blessed I felt to be able to just do these kinds of spontaneous things. We arrived there right on time and we’re so happy with our seats. It was in the front and middle! We started off dancing our feet off with the DJ and then the support act began.

The support act was ”The Shadowboxers”, they started playing and I thought: ”YES, LOVE THIS”. So you can imagine we danced/rocked along and how cheesy it may sound: I could see that they were noticing us! After a few songs, I was hooked – they definitely made a new fan. When the band finished they told the crowd to meet them. Coincidentally they were at our section! We didn’t hesitate and thought: okay let’s meet these awesome guys! Eveline was freaking out, because it was her first concert and you can imagine how it feels when you meet an artist you really like.
We took pictures and they indeed told me they noticed us. Eveline with her happy face said that I was a blogger and somehow they kept it in mind. We were just seated 5 minutes with Justin Timberlake on, when the bass guitarist of The Shadowboxers picked us up and asked if we wanted to go VIP. *inner fan girl freaking out*
Long story short, the rest of the evening we spend it close to the stage and it was AMAZING! Justin is such a great performer and I am so happy that I discovered a new band.

I really want to thank my bosses again, because the last time I had a great concert was at The Chainsmokers, and that was also made possible by them!
Op woensdag hadden we met Imagine een super leuke shoot op het strand in Scheveningen. Ik was een paar dagen ervoor daar al lekker gaan zonnen met vriendinnen. De nieuwe collectie ligt weer in de winkel, geselecteerd door Kim en yours truly. Ik ben echt blij met de nieuwe collectie en dit is mijn nieuwe favoriete zomer jurk.
On wednesday we had a fun shoot at the beach for Imagine. I already went to the beach a couple of days before for some tan sessions. The new collection is already available in store and only, picked by Kim and yours truly. This is my favorite summer dress!

Ik ben begonnen aan een nieuwe uitdaging. Het heeft te maken met het boek de FIT methode en de sportschool.
De mensen om mij heen werden waarschijnlijk nog gekker van mij dan normaal. Ik roep namelijk al maanden dat ik weer moet gaan sporten en op mijn voeding moet letten. Het gezonder eten hield ik twee weken vol en toen was ik weer terug bij af.
Begin juni deed ik voor het eerst mee met een boksgroeples. Het helpt gewoon zo erg als je met een vriendin even een goede start kan maken. Het is mij zo goed bevallen dat ik na de eerste week gelijk heb ingeschreven bij de sportschool. Nu wil ik elke week boksen en zelf trainen. Ik heb nog een intake gepland staan en deze is wordt dan om de 8 weken opnieuw gedaan. Dat is echt fijn, want dan krijg ik extra motivatie om progressie te maken.
De FIT methode
Ik ben ook aan de FIT methode begonnen. Het is een boek dat ontwikkeld is door verschillende specialisten van FIT.nl. Met behulp van een stappenplan die je zelf moet invullen kan je zo aan de slag gaan met je eigen schema.
Er staan tips en informatie in over het lichaam, sporten en mijn persoonlijke favoriet: voeding. Ik wil gewoon eten waar ik zin in heb en echt alleen maar gezond eten is echt niks voor mij. In plaats van dat ik heel het internet afstruin, staan er handige tips met alternatieven voor ontbijt, lunch en avondeten. Gewoon echt de basis dingen wat ik moet weten om een start te maken voor een fitter leven.
Ook is er een app beschikbaar waar je nog uitgebreider met voedings- en sportschema’s kan werken. Voor mij is dit boek een goed begin naar mijn progressie tot weer een hopelijk fitter leven!

I’ve started a new challenge! It involves the book: FIT methode and the gym.
The people around me were probably getting more annoyed with me than usual. For months I’ve been telling that I need to go to the gym and eat healthy again. The healthy eating part has lasted for two weeks and then I caved back in the life of junkfood.
Last week I participated in a boxing group lesson. It really helps when you can make a new start with a friend. I liked it so much that I signed in at the gym. From now on I will go boxing and fitness every week! The gym will make a personal schedule with me and then it is on me! I’m super excited to get started and see the progress. I’ve also started reading FIT methode, a book that has information and tips about a fitter lifestyle. I’m curious how this all will work out, but I am excited for this! X

It has been awfully quiet around my blog. When I started blogging with OHMAYGOD in 2011, I wanted to share a lot of my interest, outfits and what I was up too almost every day. It has kept me busy, I made tons of new connections and got some friends out of it. My interest for photography grew and I just wanted to inspire people with my looks.
The thing what I have been noticing and which is why I am writing this post, is that even though we share things on social media, these are still the highlights of people’s life. Even around me, I see and hear people talking about other people about what they post on social media and they aren’t even big ”influencers”. But it is the way they share and perceive their lives on social media, when in real life it is nothing like that.
So what I am trying to say is, that I will be more careful about what I am posting about my personal life. It weirds me out that I share things and I don’t know who’s actually reading it. Maybe I am taking it too heavy, but I’ve seen it around me and I want to take a step back. It already has started with getting an extra instagram account, in case I still want to over-share, then I know who’s watching! I will be still sharing outfits, travel- and sports experiences, but that will be mostly it!
Don’t forget when you get lost – it is only the highlight of people that you see on social media!!! It is such cliché but it is so true.
