I wasn’t planning on getting new items, but isn’t that always the case with shopping? Haha! I only did some sale shopping, got the top (€3,99) and mom jeans (12,99) from Bershka and the boots (€29,95) from Mango. Not bad right? I’m happy with the items for such a bargain.

#ONMAYBODY: Shirt from Imagine by Kim

ENG: Honestly, I do not know if I’m the person you should ask music tips. I am one of those who likes a tune and loves a song because of the lyrics. My most played songs in Spotify in 2016 are probably 90% love songs. What else can I say; I’m a sucker for love. The brand Sudio the gave me the Vasa Bla earphones. They are earphones that are wirelessly connected via Bluetooth. That of course is super useful while working out (if I ever do again) and saves a lot of fiddling to get the wires apart. There are two downsides to the Bluetooth earphones and that is that you need to recharge and the music skips sometimes. Furthermore, the sound is really great and here is the list of songs I currently listening to alot.

NL: Eerlijk gezegd weet ik niet of ik de persoon ben waar je muziek tips om moet vragen. Ik ben zo’n persoon die zich naast een leuk deuntje, echt door de tekst laat leiden. Mijn meest gespeelde nummers op Spotify van 2016 bestaat 90% uit liefdesliedjes,  wat kan ik anders zeggen dan: ”I’m a sucker for love”.  Ik ontving van het merk Sudio de Vasa Bla oordopjes. Het zijn oordopjes die draadloos zijn en door bluetooth verbonden wordt. Dat is natuurlijk super handig voor tijdens het sporten (als ik dat ooit weer ga doen) en scheelt hoop gefrutsel om de bedrading uit elkaar te halen. Er zijn wel twee nadelen aan het bluetooth gedeelte van de oordopjes en dat is dat je ze moet opladen en de muziek soms verspringt door de verbinding. Verder is het geluid echt top en hier is de lijst met nummers die ik momenteel veel naar luister:

NL: Afgelopen maandag was ik in Parijs met Kim om de nieuwe collectie te halen voor de winkel. Ik ben echt verliefd op alle dingetjes die we hebben gekocht. Vandaag heb ik snel met Veerle & Iris even foto’s geschoten voor de instagram, het duurde maar 10 minuten, of minder zelfs ook want het was weer super koud. Shop de nieuwe collectie hier!

ENG: Ten years ago I bought my first pair of Vans. They were slip ons with black and white blocks. Not much later I bought my Vans Old School in Black and these were really my favorite shoes. With Avril Lavigne played on my iPod and a matched look, I felt super cool walking on the hallways of high school. I would not say I was the first with Vans at school, but I was one of the few. The cool kids who were two grades higher, and not counting the skaters, of course, also had Vans. It was striking that I was not really bullied, but I wasn’t getting compliments about my looks either in the beginning. But you know how it goes, things quickly become mainstream and eventually I saw that everyone started wearing Vans. Now I must say that this story was similar after I started with wearing colored sneakers and UGGs. The reason I remember this like it was yesterday, because I like previously said I was dressed more notable and was therefore also teased. I was not in the popular group, but also not with the people who were bullied. Nowadays this is much less because trends get mainstream faster and people are embracing exclusive things more.

To return to my story Vans; Ten years later and I’m glad I’m still remained true to myself when it comes to style. I still wear what I like, but try to combine all my items together. This white Vans are therefore a great asset to form the basis for the distinctive items that I will always buy for my wardrobe. I’m still very happy with the red jacket that I’ve just bought at the Zara sale and have combined this time with my favorite vintage Levi’s jeans. I’d probably wear the sneakers with blue jeans to create a 90s looks. The shoes are still white, but there’ll probably change soon haha!

Oh, and it was freezing cold taking these pictures. Me and Ginney took like 5 mins to shoot this, because we couldn’t deal with the cold. Check out here new website Xo

NL: Tien jaar geleden kocht ik mijn allereerste paar Vans. Het waren slip-ons met zwart en witte blokjes. Niet veel later kocht ik mijn Vans Old School in het zwart en dit waren echt mijn favoriete schoenen. Met Avril Lavigne afgespeeld op mijn iPod en een gematchte look erbij voelde ik me echt super cool op de Middelbare. Ik wil niet zeggen dat ik de eerste was met Vans op school, maar ik kon ze wel op twee handen tellen zeg maar. De cool kids die twee jaar hoger zaten, en de skaters niet meegeteld, hadden natuurlijk ook al Vans aan. Opvallend was dat ik niet echt ermee werd gepest, maar ik kreeg er ook geen complimentjes over mijn looks in die tijd. Maar je weet hoe het gaat, dingen worden snel mainstream en langzamerhand zag je dat iedereen Vans begon te dragen. Nu moet ik zeggen dat dit verhaal ook soortgelijk was met toen ik begon met gekleurde sneakers en UGGs. De reden waarom ik dit nog als de dag van gisteren heb onthouden is, omdat ik zoals eerder gezegd wel opvallender gekleed was en hierdoor ook geplaagd werd. Want, ja ik zat niet bij de populaire groep, maar ook niet bij de mensen die wel werden gepest. Tegenwoordig is dit al veel minder, want de ”opvallende” trends worden sneller mainstream en het hebben van exclusievere dingen worden meer omarmt.

Om terug te komen op mijn Vans verhaal; tien jaar later en ik ben blij dat ik nog steeds trouw aan mezelf ben gebleven als het gaat om stijl. Ik draag nog steeds wat ik leuk vind, maar probeer wel al mijn items met elkaar te kunnen combineren. Deze witte Vans zijn daarom een goede aanwinst om de basis te vormen voor de opvallende items die ik altijd voor mijn kledingkast zal aanschaffen. Ik ben nog steeds ontzettend blij met het rode jasje die ik pas bij de Zara sale heb gehaald en heb het dit keer gecombineerd met mijn favoriete vintage Levi’s jeans. Ik zal deze schoenen denk ik het meest combineren met een blauwe spijkerbroek voor een 90s look. De sneakers zijn nu nog wit, maar daar komt vast snel verandering in haha!

Oh en het was echt super koud tijdens deze shoot. Ik en Ginney hebben er echt maar 5 minuten over gedaan want we konden de kou echt niet aan. Bekijk gelijk haar nieuwe website!

ENG: I had a super slow weekend where most of the time I spend it on the couch or bed. It’s like whenever I’m free, there are stones in my body. I just can’t get myself out to do something. Yeah, I think I’m making myself crazy 😝 This week I got a full schedule again, so that might be good that I have some distraction! Xo

 ENG: As you might have seen, lately I’ve been trying to take another direction with my outfit pictures. I want my pictures to look more like a story. I’m so lucky with my friends who also want to experiment with me. That makes it also more fun to create new looks and content for my blog. I’m so excited for the upcoming trips I am going to plan. When everything works out I will tell you more about it!

NL: Zoals je misschien hebt gezien ben ik bezig geweest met een ander soort stijl outfit foto’s. Ik wil met mijn foto’s meer proberen om een verhaal te vertellen. Ik heb echt geluk met vrienden die met mij hierin mee willen experimenteren. Dat maakt het ook veel leuker om nieuwe looks en content voor mijn blog te maken. Ik ben ook echt super excited voor de tripjes die ik ga plannen. Als alles is geregeld zal ik je er meer over vertellen!

2016, 2016, let me start from the begin.

2015 was a crappy year full of personal challenges and heart breaks, so this year had to be a year of avoiding mistakes.

• First it was time for a little retreat with Jennie to the USA. And oh boy, what a good time we had there at the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and LA. It was a chilled vacation and I’m happy to gain a new friend, one that I was going to spend more time with now and then.
• I went to great events with my blog. For example I met two girls from the cast of Awkard and Faking It. I’ve became an Nelson Ambassador and went to the big Primark Amsterdam opening.
• Talking about friends I have lost touch with some, because now I really know done is done. I’ve come to know new people and I treasure all these little moments with them, because maybe at some point I could call them my friends. You are who you are surrounding yourself with, so find good people who lift you up.
• I started my new job where I have been feeling less stressed. You can say I’m a bit less of a mess 😉 I’m so thankful and greatful for this opportunity and hope to get the most out of this journey. So i’d like to thank my girlboss for believing in me.
• My blog was hacked for a while which lead to me starting over with a clean slate. The sucky part is that I lost my visitors and all my previous updates. On the other hand it means I can now focus on better content again.
• I also started good with working out but you know how that ends. Once there are more fun things to do like eating with friends. I will find the motivation to start again..
• In the summer things got a little rough, ive seen someone passed away right in front of me. Yeah that was some heavy stuff. It reminded me of how life can be so fragile and unexpecting. These kinds of things are just never ending.
• I went to Barcelona with Jennie and Wendy for a little getaway in the sun. That was really fun ❤
• The MTV EMA’s were held in Rotterdam and it was obviously that I needed to go. So I went to the fan audition alone to score a red card carpet ticket for the show. It was one of these moments I felt proud I did something for myself without anyone else.

Did I avoid making mistakes? No, not at all, but I have learned from every choice I made.
So here we are today in 2017. This will be the year of just letting things go. I mean, what ever really happen nobody knows. All I know is that I need to find my inner peace and common ground. With the thought of that the best is yet to come, nothing can bring me down! 🙏
